Holy Trinity Church
Gongbath at Holy Trinity Church, Guildford. 18th July, 7pm. Can you imagine what a range of large gongs will sound like in this incredible setting as their deep tones and frequencies interact with the powerful acoustics of this amazing space? SPECIAL OFFER ON DOUBLE TICKETS Experience a deeply relaxing evening of sound and stillness inside Holy Trinity Church, one of Guildford's most beautiful and atmospheric buildings. This is the first time these large concert gongs have been played in Holy Trinity Church, making it a rare opportunity to experience the remarkable interaction between sound and the church's stunning acoustics. Lie back, get comfortable and allow the powerful vibrations of large therapeutic gongs to wash through the space, creating a unique sound journey designed to calm the mind, release tension and restore a sense of balance. Benefits of Therapeutic Sound ✓ Stress relief ✓ Deep relaxation ✓ Better sleep ✓ Time to switch off Experienced sound therapist and historical musician Jez Smith has presented immersive gong experiences in prestigious venues including St Paul's Cathedral and regularly at Kew Gardens. This special Guildford event brings that experience to Holy Trinity Church for the first time ever. What to expect You will rest comfortably on the floor and listen to the sounds. You are not expected to do anything physically active. The session is aimed at relaxation and rest. Participants normally stay awake but reach a deep dreamlike state which can be extremely therapeutic for both the mind and body. No previous experience is needed, and all will be explained before the session. What to bring Please bring a mat (yoga mat/camping mat etc), one or two blankets, a pillow, eye covering and a bottle of water. I do have spare mats available if requested in advance. How to prepare The sound therapy session is a 2 way process, a connection made between you and the sound. Please arrive 15 minutes early to get settled in advance. When you arrive take the time to rest quietly in the gong space, slow down your breathing, clear the mind and relax. The more prepared you are the greater the benefit you will feel. Please enjoy the quiet space when you arrive and respect others around you who will be preparing too. Contact me in advance if you are unsure of directions to the venue. Contraindications: The soundbath sessions are not suitable for people with seizures, epilepsy, heart conditions, high blood pressure or early stages of pregnancy (1st trimester). If you have any queries or special requirements for the session, please contact me in advance on: jez_smith5@hotmail.com.
