Come let it go & party with me, the music, & the dance floor Queer and neurodiverse run - All emotions welcome <3 Movement is Medicine® bridges the gap between science, music, movement and rhythm. Through music, movement, and education, MIM helps you uncover your innate rhythm, connects you to the present moment, and releases stress. When I dance I feel happy & my body feels vibrantly alive. As well as being massive fun I also use dancing, movement, & the grounding techniques we share in MIM often, to regulate myself, move through big feelings & shake things off. Instagram - @chloeisparadisewild SPECIAL DISCOUNT CODE WITH 25% OFF - PARADISEWILD Movement Is Medicine sessions upcoming: July 17th - 8-9pm September 18th - 8-9pm October 16th - 8-9pm November 20th - 8-9pm The session starts with everyone sat down on a yoga mat, with eyes closed if it feels comfortable.(This way we are able to really tap into our bodies ) We check in with the body as a whole & start on the bottoms of the feet, all while moving to the beat. Throughout I ask you to ‘find your rhythm’ and will encourage you to move, even if it is a light sway. During this we will tap into a little breathwork & guided movement to enhance our presence in the moment, to encourage relaxation and letting go. Slowly we move up the body, and then once stood up we will be guided through some gentle movements to release. Then it will be freestyle and you are welcome to move and express yourself in any way. What do you need in that moment? It is your time to find what feels good. If you need to cry, or to make noise, it is so welcome, and so is silliness! As the session draws to a close, we will slow down with the music and do some relaxed movement meditation, to ground ourselves. Please wear whatever you like, it could be something comfortable or sparkly :) If it feels good, its perfect. MIM SCIENCE So how does it work? Through music, movement, and education, MIM helps you uncover your innate rhythm, connects you to the present moment, and releases physical stress and emotional tension. The MIM method uses simple tools such as music, body awareness, somatic tracking and free-flow movement to bring balance between activation of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. Using science-backed education MIM immerses you in a variety of electronic music genres, emphasising percussion, BPM (beats per minute) and innovative song structures. From House, Garage, Afrobeats, Drum & Bass, DISCO the list goes on, our focus is on the drum, and participants will experience a diverse, emotive musical journey. MIM does not use any choreographed dance movements, instead, we start with simple movements such as tapping, squeezing and rubbing (a body based meditation) followed by free flow, non-judgmental movement. The MIM method can be adapted for children, the elderly, and people with disabilities. Our Aim At MIMHQ, our mission is to build a community for like-minded individuals by providing resources on science, movement, music, and culture in an informative and relatable way. We aim to represent diverse cultures and demographics, from ex-ravers seeking connection to professionals exploring modern methods. In 2025, we will focus on sharing the roots and culture of the music we use, educating people on the history of drums, tribal ceremonies, ancient wisdom, and modern practices like the origins of house music and the rave scene.
