ETNA Community Centre
Introducing Ecstatic Dance TwickenhamFriday 10th July 7pm (Doors open 6:45pm)Etna Centre, East Twickenham Welcome! For as long as I can remember, I’ve been passionate about creating community spaces — places where people can connect, slow down, and reconnect with themselves. In a world that often feels rushed and disconnected, these evenings offer a nourishing, healing, and joyful atmosphere. Bringing Ecstatic Dance and movement into our South West London community is something I’m deeply excited about, and I can’t wait to welcome you to this space. Overview Start your weekend by shaking off the week with a warm, optional cacao with Dr Genevieve, followed by an immersive Ecstatic Dance journey led by Josh Silver. Ecstatic Dance is an embodied practice inviting you to connect with yourself, explore your individuality, and express your energy through free movement. There’s no choreography, no “right” way to move, and no performance expectations. Some people move energetically, others sway gently, stretch, or simply rest — all forms of participation are welcome. Whether you’re here to dance your heart out, release tension, or simply soak in the good energy, this evening is designed as a welcoming, held space for people of all backgrounds. Come to reconnect with yourself, connect with others, or simply be. Free parking is available outside the venue. Bring an open spirit, a yoga mat or blanket, and something to cover your eyes for the integration. Let’s make it a Friday night to remember! Evening Flow 6:45pm – Doors open Arrival music to stretch, land, and settle into the space. 7:00pm – Opening circle & optional cacao (Led by Dr Genevieve von Lob) A short welcome and clear guidelines, with a gentle introduction to Ecstatic Dance led by Josh Silver. A warm cacao drink will be available for those who would like one — a simple way to arrive, soften, and connect. 7:15pm – Ecstatic Dance journey (1hr 45 mins) A curated music journey led by Josh, with light guided embodiment to help you drop into movement and expression. 9pm – Integration (15 minutes) Time to rest, lie down, and absorb the experience. 9:15pm – Closing circle & song We’ll gather in a circle to reflect, share, or simply be together, ending with an optional group song to honor the shared experience and gently transition back into the evening. 9:30pm – Finish Guidelines Sober: This is a drug and alcohol-free space. Barefoot: Dance barefoot or with gripped socks/shoes to connect with the floor. Mindful & Respectful: This is a space to reconnect with yourself. Dancing with others is welcome, and we encourage everyone to communicate their personal boundaries clearly and respectfully. Listen to your own comfort and the signals of others — if you’re unsure, check in or hold back. This helps everyone feel safe, present, and free to move as they wish. Clothing & Comfort: We ask that all dancers remain clothed (tops and bottoms on) to support a respectful and inclusive space. No Phones on the Dance Floor: We encourage keeping devices tucked away to stay fully present. If you need to use your phone, please step outside. No strong fragrances: Some dancers may be sensitive or allergic. No chatting on the dance floor: Conversation is welcome during social time afterward. This is a mindful space to connect with yourself, your body, and your energy.
